The ability to manufacture concrete on site in accurate volumes allows us to provide a more competitive solution in the market, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The development of the unique Concrete Taxi system was born out of a frustration of not being able to order small batch concrete over the weekend. Back in 2000 Robert Cairns who invented the Concrete Taxi concept was successful in achieving the Yellow Pages Small Business Award.
A prototype was developed and became operational in 2002. Combining the savings on delivering an exact volume of concrete required for the project, with the convenience of delivery day or night and the ability to service some of the most difficult or restricted work environments, Concrete Taxi began developing the Perth market.
Concrete Taxi employed Peter Carey as the Operations Manager in 2002. Peter developed the business model and built the foundation of Concrete Taxi’s success in a niche market of small volume concrete delivery – an area that had been poorly serviced.
Glenda Carey joined the team in 2003 as the Office Manager and Customer service Representative, but generally she was a girl Friday and helped with all aspects of running the business.
In 2006, Concrete Taxi commenced franchising and expanded its operations to Brisbane and later in 2008 to the Sydney market. Initial development was through the use of Company vehicles, with Franchises being introduced as the markets grew.
During 2010, Peter and Glenda became the master franchisors for Queensland. During this time they established franchisees across Brisbane and continued in a managerial role for Perth and Sydney.
Shortly after in December 2012, an opportunity to take over as the Concrete Taxi Franchisor arose.
Peter and Glenda now operate Concrete Taxi Nationally. They have established franchisees servicing the domestic and commercial markets of Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast. Concrete Taxi through its network of franchised operators is experiencing consistent growth and expansion at a national level.
Over the years, Concrete Taxi built its excellent reputation as a direct result of its commitment to better service the needs of customers. Customer service is one of the most important factors in building and sustaining a long-term business and Concrete Taxi’s commitment to customer service is second to none.

Donna Byles – started with Concrete Taxi in January 2016 as our daytime Customer Service representative.
Sharon Dunlop – has rejoined the team and is a daytime Customer Service representative.
